Most analytics tools start from the assumption that more tracking is better. Cookies, fingerprints, cross-site identifiers — collect everything, sort it out later. The result is a worse experience for visitors (cookie banners everywhere) and worse data for teams (sampling, delays, and dashboards nobody trusts).
We wanted the opposite: a tool that respects visitors by default and still answers the questions that matter. So OceanWave is cookieless. We don’t set cookies, we don’t store personal data, and we don’t track people across sites. In most cases that means you don’t need a consent banner at all.
Going cookieless forced better engineering. Metrics are aggregated and anonymous, which keeps the system fast and the numbers honest. You see real visitors in realtime — not a sampled estimate from yesterday.
Privacy-first isn’t a compliance checkbox for us. It’s the design constraint that makes the product simpler, faster, and more trustworthy.
